About the Wyckoff Education Foundation
Making A Difference Since 1991
Since its first fund raising event in 1991, WEF has raised and donated more than $1,200,000 to the Wyckoff public schools. Many of the projects funded have been in the areas of Science, Technology and the Performing Arts.
Recently we initiated the EIG program in collaboration with the Wyckoff Board of Education with the express
purpose of funding the initial pilot stage of innovative educational programs in the Wyckoff public school district.
The EIG program’s objective is to provide teachers and administrators the opportunity to design and develop programs that can
enhance the quality of education in the Wyckoff public schools through innovative and specialized programs that reflect
current best practices and standards of education.
In prior years WEF helped by upgrading the computer network of the entire Wyckoff school district. This project linked the computer capabilities of all five Wyckoff public schools, allowing them to share information in a faster, more secure environment. Building on this technology WEF sponsored the installation of a district-wide Library Automation System. This advanced computer system greatly enhances research capabilities and provides school Media Specialists with sophisticated tools to assist the students’ understanding and utilization of the Media Center’s vast resources.
Several years ago, WEF instituted Performance Grants. The purpose of these ongoing grants is to provide students additional exposure to the arts. Each year, funds are provided to each school to hire outside consultants or performing arts specialists to provide programs in the areas of drama, music and the visual arts. At Eisenhower, this grant has also been used to help finance the production of the annual school musical.
WEF provides Teacher Recognition Grants to staff members who have received County, State and/or Federal recognition the previous school year. The grant is $1,000 per teacher, and is used for classroom and instructional resources.
WEF has purchased and donated numerous portable Multi-Media Carts and Computer Smart Board for each of our schools. This cutting edge technology is considered by many educators to represent the latest trend in education.
In addition, over the past two years, WEF has purchased a significant number of musical instruments for the District’s instrumental music program.
